Course Outline

This course enables candidates to become more aware of possible emergency and crisis situations that can occur on board passenger ships. Through the use of scenarios and discussions, you will develop a better understanding of human behaviour in crisis situations and develop skills to be able to maintain control, reduce panic and induce calm in an emergency situation.

Content & Objectives

The course covers the following subjects

  • What is a crisis?
  • Training and drills; teamwork and its importance
  • Leadership
  • Personal strengths and weaknesses in a crisis
  • Stress and basic human instincts of panic, fear, anger and heroism
  • Effective communications

Learning Mode

We run this training every Sunday. 

Please note that if you book last minute, the office is closed at weekend and we cannot issue the certificate on the day. We will post the certificate to you on Monday. 

We can also schedule it on demand - and run it subject to minimum numbers.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal requirements for this course however you should be over 18 years of age.


The cost for this course is £150.00 inc VAT.

If booked along with the STCW Basic Safety Training Week, the price is £105 incl. VAT.
