IHCD First Person on Scene

This course combines theory with practical exercises at our training centre in Cowes.

It covers the following elements:

- The role of First Person on Scene (FPOS)

- Scene safety

- Triage

- Basic life support (CPR)

- Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

- Use of oxygen

- Airway management - including use of suction and Oro-Pharyngeal (OP) tube

- Spinal boards

- Medical conditions

- Positioning of casualties

- Assisting the paramedic

- Extraction of trapped patients

- Medical Emergencies

- Circulation and Shock


Minimum entry requirements:

- You should be over 18 years of age and have

- STCW 95 Elementary First Aid (or equivalent course)


During course it requires some study in the evenings.


Accommodation is provided onboard the M/V Sea Trident, moored alongside Red Ensign Training in West Cowes. Offered on a full board or B&B basis, cabins with either a shared communal washroom or a shared en-suite (subject to availability). Please check availability by calling us on 01983 294088 or email.


The cost for this course is £530.00 inc VAT.
